Consulting Panel

After receiving her MBA from Mount St. Mary's University, Totran remain involved as an active alumni and donor to the MBA program. At one of the Donor Appreciation event, she had the opportunity to pitch an idea for a "Careers in Consulting" panel to one of the MBA Directors. They loved the idea so much that they presented the idea to the alumni board who helped organized the event. The idea became the main presentation for the MBA Summer Community Luncheon, attended by MBA students, alumni, professors and staff.

Totran was one of the three featured panelists, including Justin Key, founder of Mindset Management Group and Candace Montgomery, founder of Curly Rootz. Each spoke about their consulting journey, sharing the struggles and rewards as well as dispelling the common consulting myths! It is not always glamorous. It is hard work and long hours. We learned that many students were interested in consulting and were eager to get started after their MBA journey.

It was a fantastic turn out and Totran was extremely happy that her little idea became a reality. She hopes to continue the conversation with the MBA alums and is working on developing a scholarship program supporting inspiring consultants and entrepreneurs.
