Newsletter #8 | Reflections & Updates During The Pandemic
If you're thinking that it has been quite a while since you have heard from me, you're right! It was back in March when I was starting to plan my quarterly newsletter and then.... *cue dramatic music* the PANDEMIC happened. It hit us all by surprise. Many of us suddenly got a second full-time job: school teacher. But here we are in July... still trucking on. Let's try to be thankful for this time and make the best of it.
Personally, I'm grateful for all the flexibility and understanding that my clients have shown to me during this time. Working from home with children is definitely no small feat... but it's something we all have learned to manage and most of all, to give empathy to one another and also, to forgive ourselves when things aren't going perfectly. As pictured below, I've been in several meetings with my kids peeking in and people have never been more kind and gracious.
You know what is most surprising during this pandemic? Some of my clients have used this time to focus more on their marketing efforts. Some have increased their ad budget. Others are hosting webinars to directly reach their customers from the comfort of their homes. Consider this: if everyone is essentially stuck at home, you've got a captive audience. Why not take advantage of that opportunity? If you're interested in discussing exciting ideas that could help boost your business, I'm here if you're ready.
I hope that you and your family are well and staying positive. If there's anything I can assist with, please do not hesitate to reach out. Sending you all virtual *HUGS* until we can all meet again.
Very Best,
Totran

Austin Rose, Email Marketing Strategist for Radar Strategy Group, shares tips for improving your email campaigns' open rates through subject line optimization.
Did you know that the average consumer spends about two seconds deciding whether or not to open an email? So it's crucial to have a subject line that stands out in their inbox.
Here’s a few tips to improve your email subject lines:
Keep it short. The best practice for length is 15-40 characters.
Use numbers. Have 2 new products or 3 recent blogs you're sharing? Include the digit in your subject line.
Tease. Your subject line should hint at what's inside the email and intrigue your customers enough to open it.
Add an emoji. Most people open emails on their phones, and emojis stand out on mobile. Even if your brand voice isn't light-hearted, you might be able to find an emoji that works - like a stethoscope if you're a doctor's office.
Test! And test again! Try splitting your list in half and sending two subject lines with only one difference and see which does better. Then, you can use this winning tactic in your future campaigns.
How have you found success with email subject lines? Have any other questions? Drop us a line - we'd love to hear from you.
